A steam shower produces hot steam in a closed room for a bather or group of bathers to enjoy. They are very hot and wet and many people believe there are health benefits from bathing in them occasionally or even daily.

A steam shower is often found at spas and fancy country clubs but they are popping up in regular homes more and more often with easy do it yourself projects to complete custom installations. They are a bit more complex than a regular shower, but the main difference is the complete seal at the doors and around every corner.

A steam shower has to be sealed to get the full effect of the steam otherwise cooler air will make the water condense into liquid form as opposed to vapor. This makes them more difficult to install in many situations and also raises their price compared with a regular shower.
